About the Book

'Manufacturing TDI with CAAM has created training curricula that aligns with the MSSC (Manufacturing Skill Standards Council) CPT (Certified Production Technician) certification. Participants that earn an MSSC-CPT certification will receive 15 articulated credit-hours of the technical core toward the 60 credit-hour Engineering Technology AS degree in Florida. 10 Florida State/Community Colleges currently offer the Engineering Technology degree. In order to obtain the MSSC CPT certification, a participant must pass four MSSC assessments in the following areas: Quality, Safety, Production Processes, and Maintenance Awareness. The MSSC CPT certification is the industry standard certification endorsed by NAM (National Association of Manufacturers) and it is also a major component of Florida's Unified Education System for Manufacturing and an essential tool for credentialing manufacturing workers.

About the Author

This latest (fifth) version/edition of the curriculum aligns with Manufacturing Skill Standards Council's Certified Production Technician Certification (MSSC-CPT). Foundations of Manufacturing was designed to replace our legacy (earlier editions) curriculum; Manufacturing Fundamentals and Manufacturing Essentials. The Student Guides are available to the general public. Previous version, instructors guides and the supplemental material, including power points & practice quizzes, will only be available to instructors who have attend a required instructor certification course (ICC).

About the Course

Foundations of Manufacturing is designed to be delivered between 100-150 contact hours depending on whether students are incumbent and displaced workers with a background in manufacturing, entry-level production workers, or high school and career academy students.

This four-domain course provides the fundamental skills and knowledge for a diverse manufacturing sector. The training modules can be used to supplement high school programs or as a complete course for workforce trainees.
