Written and produced by Coherent Math in partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, this groundbreaking series aligns with the belief that everyone can do mathematics by positioning students at the center of learning in an engaging and supportive problem-based curriculum. Built from Illustrative Mathematics’ highly-praised Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 curricula, the Coherent Math Integrated High School Math Series has been adapted to meet the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, increase student engagement and discourse, elevate student voice, and provide extended practice opportunities.

The first course in a three-course series, Math 1 builds on students' understanding of one- and two-variable statistics, linear equations and inequalities and systems of linear equations and inequalities, coordinate geometry, and functions, while introducing students to exponential and quadratic functions and sequences. Through these studies, students investigate important real-world contexts, such as the United States healthcare system, wages vs. housing costs, and trends in population growth. Student Workbooks feature ample space to showcase student thinking, and Teacher Workbooks include embedded professional development and reflection opportunities. Math 1 is available in three different formats to provide educators with choices that best meet the needs of their students.

Math 1 (Full Year)

The course is formatted to accommodate a full-year schedule of 45-minute lessons. There are approximately 150 lessons in total.

• Teacher Sets for Math 1 (Full Year) include four full-color Teacher Workbooks: Units 1–2, Units 3–4, Units 5–6, and Units 7–8. Each Teacher Workbook is approximately 380 pages.

• Student Sets for Math 1 (Full Year) include four Student Workbooks: Units 1–2, Units 3–4, Units 5–6, and Units 7–8, each with perforations. Each Student Workbook is approximately 310 pages.

Math 1 Semester 

The course is formatted to accommodate a one-semester schedule of 90-minute lessons. There are approximately 75 lessons in total. 

• Teacher Sets for Math 1 Semester include four full-color Teacher Workbooks: Units 1–2, Units 3–4, Units 5–6, and Units 7–9. Each Teacher Workbook is approximately 380 pages.
• Student Sets for Math 1 Semester include four Student Workbooks: Units 1–2, Units 3–4, Units 5–6, and Units 7–9, each with perforations. Each Student Workbook is approximately 260 pages.

Math 1 with Foundational Supports (Full Year)

The course is formatted to accommodate a full-year schedule of 80-minute lessons. There are approximately 150 lessons in total.    

• Teacher Sets for Math 1 with Foundational Supports include nine full-color Teacher Workbooks, one per unit. Each Teacher Workbook is approximately 250 pages. 

• Student Sets for Math 1 with Foundational Supports include nine Student Workbooks, one per unit, each with perforations. Each Student Workbook is approximately 180 pages.

Math 2 (Semester)

The second course in a three-course series, Math 2 builds on students' understanding of rigid transformations, congruence, similarity, probability, and quadratic functions, while introducing students to inverse variation and square root functions, function transformations, and right triangle trigonometry. Through these studies, students investigate important real-world contexts, such as local and non-local trademarks, global climate risks, and genetics. The course is formatted to accommodate a one-semester schedule of 90-minute lessons. There are approximately 75 lessons in total. Student Workbooks feature ample space to showcase student thinking, and Teacher Workbooks include embedded professional development and reflection opportunities. 

• Teacher Sets for Math 2 (Semester) include four full-color Teacher Workbooks: Units 1–2, Units 3–4, Units 5–6, and Units 7–8. Each Teacher Workbook is approximately 350 pages. 
• Student Sets for Math 2 (Semester) include four Student Workbooks: Units 1–2, Units 3–4, Units 5–6, and Units 7–8, each with perforations. Each Student Workbook is approximately 270 pages.

The third course in a three-course series, Math 3 builds on students' understanding of solid geometry, exponential functions, and statistical inferences, while introducing students to polynomial, rational, and trigonometric functions, inverse functions, and advanced algebraic solving approaches. Through these studies, students investigate important real-world contexts, such as income tax rates, escalating university tuitions, and access to healthy and affordable food. The course is formatted to accommodate a one-semester schedule of 90-minute lessons. There are approximately 75 lessons in total. Student Workbooks feature ample space to showcase student thinking, and Teacher Workbooks include embedded professional development and reflection opportunities. 

• Teacher Sets for Math 3 (Semester) include four full-color Teacher Workbooks: Units 1–2, Units 3–4, Units 5–6, and Units 7–8. Each Teacher Workbook is approximately 360 pages.   
• Student Sets for Math 3 (Semester) include four Student Workbooks: Units 1–2, Units 3–4, Units 5–6, and Units 7–8, each with perforations. Each Student Workbook is approximately 265 pages.
