After over 40 years of teaching experience, Houghton & Houghton realize students and professionals find the mechanics of following approved writing styles quite confusing. In response, they developed a series of books that simplify the experience of adhering to the rules of the APA, MLA, Turabian, and Gregg writing styles.

Their books clarify important aspects of these writing styles. They are not intended to replace the manuals, but to transform the available information into more user friendly guides, making it easier for students to reference common writing issues. Frequently used aspects of structure, arrangement, citation, and referencing are addressed in simple formats that allow writers to focus on content rather than mechanics and style. Quite simply, the books int he Easy Way Series present the basics in clear, concise, accurate, and easy to navigate packages.

Join the hundreds of thousands of people who have simplified the writing process by using Houghton & Houghton The Easy Way Series books.

About Foundations of Manufacturing:

Manufacturing TDI with CAAM has created training curricula that aligns with the MSSC (Manufacturing Skill Standards Council) CPT (Certified Production Technician) certification.

Participants that earn an MSSC-CPT certification will receive 15 articulated credit-hours of the technical core toward the 60 credit-hour Engineering Technology AS degree in Florida.

Ten Florida State/Community Colleges currently offer the Engineering Technology degree. In order to obtain the MSSC CPT certification, a participant must pass four MSSC assessments in the following areas: Quality, Safety, Production Processes, and Maintenance Awareness.

The MSSC CPT certification is the industry standard certification endorsed by NAM (National Association of Manufacturers) and it is also a major component of Florida's Unified Education System for Manufacturing and an essential tool for credentialing manufacturing workers.

About the Author:

This latest fifth version of the curriculum aligns with Manufacturing Skill Standards Council's Certified Production Technician Certification (MSSC-CPT).

Foundations of Manufacturing was designed to replace our legacy (earlier editions) curriculum; Manufacturing Fundamentals and Manufacturing Essentials.

The Student Guides are available to the general public, however previous edition versions, instructors guides and the supplemental materials, including power points & practice quizzes, will only be available to instructors who have attend a required instructor certification course (ICC).

About the course:

Foundations of Manufacturing is designed to be delivered between 100-150 contact hours depending on whether students are incumbent and displaced workers with a background in manufacturing, entry-level production workers, or high school and career academy students.

This four-domain MTDI course provides the fundamental skills and knowledge for a diverse manufacturing sector. The training modules can be used to supplement high school programs or as a complete course for workforce trainees.
